Welcome to another Sweet Sunday Sketch! I had a lot of fun with this one as I actually came up with an idea a bit different to the regular DSP and embellishments, not that there is anything wrong with that!! I have used a brayer to separate light and dark colours for the 2 panels, and used the branch and sentiment as the perpendicular panel. (wow, that was a BIG word for 7am!!) BUT, I still put the 3 flowers in to follow the sketch! There are actually 3 colours brayered into the background, to help them blend nicely. I was going for a 'breaking dawn' look. I had a really tricky time leaving this card un-embellished! I had a little silver clip with lilac ribbon on the top LHS, but it didn't look right, it looked as though i was just sticking something there to take up space, which I was! So off it came.
And a close up of this gorgeous little birdie contemplating life (and his pear :)

OH...MY...GOODNESS!!! I'm just blown away by your creativity!! The brayered background is fabulous and using the branch and sentiment for that little tiny layer is brilliant! AND, I do think you should get bonus points for using "perpendicular" so early in the morning :D
Wow. What a stunning card Lee! The brayer work is so precise and gives a beautiful effect : )
Wow...beautiful card! I have never used a brayer...wouldn't even know where to start, but you did a fantastic job! TFS
Hi Lee,
I can't believe it, you're right, must be my lucky day! Was dumb struck to win both challenges. Thank you, Mr Random Number Generator. Still think your brayering deserved to win.
better put up a new post on my blog.
